OAP sex offender (81) jailed for abusing girl in 1980s
Leo Hague (81), of Occupation Road, Harley, was found guilty of indecency with a child in the mid 1980s today at Sheffield Crown Court.
He was found not guilty of indecent assault and indecency with a child against the same girl after the jury deliberated for nearly three hours following a three-day trial.
A fourth charge was dropped during the trial.

Hide AdIn mitigation, Ms Rebecca Young said Hague was in poor health, suffering from chronic kidney disease and used a stick to walk. She added his wife was dependant upon him and unable to live independently.
Sentencing Hague, Judge Peter Kelson said the sexual abuse and giving evidence during the trial had been “absolutely devastating” for the victim.
He added: “Decades have moved on since the offence but not in the mind of the victim.
“She is as scarred and damaged now as she was.”
The judge said he could not give the woman back her childhood or undo the damage and jailed Hague for 12 months.
He also handed Hague a restraining order against his victim.
