Seaside fun returns to Rotherham

Beach life returned to Rotherham for a flying visit as a mini-version of Rotherham-by-the-Sea found a new home at Clifton Park.

OH, we do like to be beside the seaside...

The three-day fix of Punch and Judy, deckchairs and sandy fun aims to form a partial replacement for the popular town centre attraction — which was axed because it did not increase shops’ business.

It is running at the park’s water play area from until tomorrow.

The event is the last of a series of Slices of Summer Fun served up weekly by the council this year in place of the fortnight-long seaside special, which also included a Party in the Square at All Saints’ Square on Saturday featuring a disco, party games, competitions and children’s entertainment.
