THE acting mentor who set Brian Blessed on the road to fame will be recognised with a blue plaque in his home town later this month.
And you can learn more about the late Harry Dobson at Mexborough & District Heritage Society’s next meeting.
Acting legend Brian will be in town on September 27 to perform the grand unveiling.

Society secretary Bill Lawrence said: “Brian says himself he owes it all to Harry, whose achievements in the world of entertainment are astonishing.”
A Powerpoint talk by historian Giles Brearley at Mexborough Athletic Club at 7.30pm on September 25 will work its way through Harry’s early life and theatrical successes.
Bill said: “As actor, director, producer and recogniser of talent – Harry Dobson excelled in every role.”
