Tommy guns for fourth win

FIGHTER Tommy Chadburn guns for a fourth successive pro victory when he fights on this weekend’s fight bill at Rotherham’s Magna Centre.

And the 23-year-old super bantamweight is confident that he can overcome the challenge of Sheffielder Ryan Hanson when the two meet over four rounds — his first bout for over a year.

He said: “I’m in great shape and can’t wait to get back in the ring.

“I’ve trained hard for the fight and I’m confident that I’ll get the win. I’m going there to stop him.”

Chadburn’s last fight was against Miklos Hevesi at Doncaster Dome in September last year and before that he started his career rolling with wins over Sid Razak and then Aivaras Balsyz.

Since his last outing, the staunch Sheffield Wednesday fan has suffered broken ribs which have kept him sidelined.

“But I’ve worked hard to get back to full fitness,” he added. “I’ve now signed with Dennis Hobson and have trained with Ryan Rhodes, so things are starting to look good again.”

Saturday’s show features 11 fights, headed by Sheffielder Muheeb Fazeldin’s vacant British Commonwealth clash with South African Klaas Mboyane.

Tickets are on sale at the door. Start time is 5.30pm.
