Hayes’ tally has come in two spells at Clifton Lane dating back to when he made his debut back in 2014 in the Championship.

Titans’ tries at Tynedale came from skipper Zak Poole, winger Dan Rundle and hooker Luke Cole as they extended their winning start to the season to five matches.

The victory keeps them second in National Two North, Leeds Tykes holding top spot courtesy of two extra bonus points.

Rotherham take on Fylde on Saturday (2pm) when they will wear centenary replica shirts of the light blue and brown band shirt design worn at the club’s very first game on October 13, 1923.
