Rotherham Titans' match called off late on after plunge in temperatures

ROTHERHAM Titans’ first league game of 2026 has fallen victim to a late postponement.

The match against Clifton was called off just over an hour before kick-off today after heavier than expected overnight temperatures.

The club had been cautiously optimistic about getting the game on yesterday based on the weather forecast.

But a harsh overnight frost left the pitch harder than anticipated this morning and despite today’s sunshine it was not sufficient to soften the surface enough for play.

It is understood Clifton, who are based in Bristol, have been kept fully informed of developments.

They will now make the return journey to South Yorkshire later in the season, possibly on the next available Saturday, which is February 7.

Titans remain top of Naitonal One for now pending results elsewhere today.

Their next fixture is away to Bishop’s Stortford next Saturday.
