ROTHERHAM United have question marks hanging over three players as they head into Saturday's home League One clash with Lincoln City.

Midfielder Dan Barlaser picked up an ankle knock in Tuesday night's defeat against Manchester United Under-21s while striker Kyle Vassell and left-back Joe Mattock weren't available for selection for the EFL Trophy group-stage game because of rib issues.

The Millers, who are giving a trial to former Manchester United youngster Zak Dearnley, are hoping all three will prove their fitness in time to face the Imps.

"Dan's is an impact injury so he should be all right," said manager Paul Warne. “We'll see how that goes.

"Vass and Joe have rib injuries. I don't know how long they will take settle down. Vass hasn't been on the grass yet this week. Joe had to come out of training on Monday because he got a whack.

"I'm optimistic they will be available for the weekend but I honestly don't know."

The 20-year-old has been training with Rotherham since last Thursday.

"The lad has an opportunity to go and play in America. He wants to stay in England," said Warne. "I'll look at him again this week and make a decision by the weekend."

The Millers have bids in for two centre-halves and an attacker but there have been so fresh developments so far this week.
