Hide AdBlackman, who spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at New York, was released by the Grecians at the end of last season.
When asked if the former Chelsea prospect was a target, Taylor replied with a straight 'no'.
Rotherham need an understudy to Viktor Johansson now that Vickers has left for Derby County.
Taylor added: "I've left the goalkeeping recruitment to (keeper coach) Scott Brown. Jamal is obviously someone I've worked with previously. He's also played for Rotherham in the past so there's another connection there.

Someone else who won't be wearing a Rotherham shirt is attacker Jevani Brown who was also in Taylor's squad at Exeter.
The Millers had been monitoring the situation of the player who had been released by the Grecians and is facing a court case on charges of assault but he has joined League One Bristol Rovers.
