Millers fan Tom takes to New York turf for Macmillan Cancer Support

MILLERS-mad teenager Tom Crean took to the hallowed turf of the New York Stadium and raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in the process.

But he was left with mixed emotions after his lads’ team was beaten 4-2 by their dads in the match he organised with mum Jamie and friend Josh Smith.

Around 100 people watched the match and helped to raise cash for the cancer charity.

Tom (16) said: “It was brilliant to be able to play on the pitch at the New York Stadium apart from the fact we lost 4-2.

“We were all over them but they kept hitting us on the counter-attack.

“It was a brilliant day though and everyone really enjoyed it.”
