Arnason keeps the faith

KARI Arnason is convinced Rotherham United can put a stressful campaign behind them to book themselves another year in the second tier.

The utility man broke the club record for full international appearances made by a Miller when he completed 90 minutes for Iceland against Kazakhstan last month, surpassing former forward Shaun Goater’s tally of 18 outings for Trinidad and Tobago.

International ambitions aside, Arnason wants to make sure there's no fall-back after the high of back-to-back promotions.

He told the Advertiser: “The ambition the club set this season was a bit higher but the boys who have played in this league always knew it would be a struggle and we would possibly be in a relegation battle.

“We started the season well but then we kind of ran out of steam. There's been changes to the squad and that's never easy but I have full belief in this team.

“We just need to keep it simple and do what we're good at. I've no doubt we can finish strongly.”
