Sir, The words modernise coming from a Tory silver-spooned capitalist (David Cameron) should send alarm bells ringing for all employees of the NHS.
When a Tory says modernise, say goodbye to your pay and conditions and say hello to the private sector poverty trap, low wages, work, as and when required.
To put it in economic terms you will be taken from structural labour to frictional labour.
Employment agencies not unions will do your collective bargaining, employment agencies will pass on a much lower pay rate knowing there is a pool of "off shore" cheap labour more than willing to undercut the locals.
Putting money in the agencies pockets instead of hardworking nurses and staff of the NHS, how much more can the hardworking British take before they rise up and say no.
MIchael Conlon, Maltby.
