Witness plea over M18 death plunge
POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses after the death of a 24-year-old man who appeared to deliberately jump from a bridge over the M18.
Officers investigating the incident said that the man, from Bramley, fell from a bridge near to junction one of the M18’s southbound carriageway at around 3.20am on Saturday before being struck by a Ford Fiesta.
A police spokeswoman said: “It appeared he jumped off the bridge onto the road below.”

Hide AdThe driver of the Ford hatchback, a 29-year-old woman from Killingworth, Newcastle, was not injured in the collision.
Police are now urging anyone who might have seen the man on the bridge to contact them by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 180 of December 29.
