Two more youths arrested over Lewis Williams murder

TWO teenagers have been arrested in connection to the murder of Swinton man Lewis Williams — taking the total number of those held to ten.

Officers arrested boys aged 15 and 17 last night (Tuesday) on suspicion of murder, a police spokeswoman said.

Both remain in police custody, she added.

Mr Williams died after a reported shooting on Wath Road, Mexborough, at 4.26pm on January 11.

Four people have already appeared at Sheffield Crown Court charged with the murder of Mr Williams.

Jack Parkes (20), of Arnold Crescent, Doncaster; Ryan Nisbet (20), of Springwood Road, Barnsley; and two boys aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at a hearing on Monday.

They are due to enter pleas at a hearing on April 16 and a trial, scheduled to last three weeks, will begin on September 6.

The investigation into Mr Williams’ death continues and anyone who has information yet to speak to officers are asked to get in touch.
