Police find two men injured after spotting pub incident on CCTV

A MAN from Rotherham and two men from Barnsley were arrested following a disturbance at the County pub on Saturday in which two people injured.

Police were called to the Bridgegate pub at 7.46pm after watching CCTV of a disturbance at the pub, said a spokeswoman for the force.

"When police attended the scene, they found two men to be injured," she said.

"A 38-year-old man had suffered wounds to his face and the other man, aged 48, had been knocked unconscious.

"Based on the CCTV footage, officers arrested a 28-year-old man from Rotherham and two Barnsley men aged 19 and 46.

"All three suspects have now been released under investigation pending further enquiries."

The spokeswoman said no-one had yet been charged with any offences.

A spokesman for The County said management had made the decision to close the pub on Saturday night and it had re-opened the following day as normal. 

He said the pub was co-operating with the police investigation.
