Midfield the concern for Millers chief

MILLERS manager Ronnie Moore is expected to step up his search for a midfield play maker if there is no marked improvement at Accrington Stanley tomorrow.

A lack of guile has been evident in the last three league games, all of which have ended in draws, and Moore is anxious to cure the problem before it harms the team's promotion chances.

Welsh international Mark Bradley will be given another start in central midfield tomorrow despite struggling in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stevenage but Moore has still to decide whether to partner him with Jason Taylor or Danny Harrison as he seeks the right mix.

If he fails to find it then it looks certain he will dip into the loan market to boost the midfield engine room.

We worked hard enough on Saturday but we weren't bright enough and we wasted our energy," said Moore.

"We need more guile and we need someone who will get on the ball and pass it and also put their foot on it and slow it down.

We had that type when Josh Walker was here last season and Mark can also do that job. I need to have a longer look at him and really it's a question of whether he can play with Danny Harrison or Jason Taylor.

"It will be Bradley and either one of those two who will start this weekend. We'll give it another chance and take it from there."

Nick Fenton, meanwhile, is expected to be out for two to four weeks with the calf injury he picked up last Saturday.

That could leave the Millers short of central defensive cover further down the line because Exodus Geohaghon will go back to Peterborough United after the match against Southend in a fortnight's time as his loan spell reaches the maximum 93 days.

Team captain Ryan Cresswell is expected to return in place of Fenton tomorrow from compassionate leave.

The Millers sit third in League Two, five points ahead of Stanley in ninth.
