CCTV released after attempted theft of dog

DETECTIVES investigating the attempted theft of a dog six months ago have released CCTV images of men they wish to trace.

Two men approached a house in Caperns Road, North Anston, and demanded the 50-year-old male resident hand over the Staffordshire bull terrier.

The resident was assaulted after refusing.

Police said the suspects were thought to have been travelling in a white Ford Transit van, registration EF61 ULX.

A spokesman said: “Detectives have exhausted a number of lines of enquiry, including automatic number plate recognition work, house-to-house enquiries and following up any forensic opportunities.

“Officers would now like your help to identify the men pictured in the images. Do you recognise them or know who they could be?”
