£530 bill for Ulley fly-tipper

A FLY-tipper was ordered to pay £530 by magistrates for blighting Ulley with dumped waste.

Chloe Hodson (28) admitted three offences relating to bags of domestic rubbish left in a layby — beneath a “no fly-tipping” sign.

Rotherham Council identified Hodson as the offender and legal proceedings were started when she failed to attend interviews.

Hodson, of Woodhouse Green in Thurcroft, was fined £100, with costs of £400 and a £30 surcharge when the case was heard at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on December 18.

Cllr Emma Hoddinott, RMBC cabinet member for waste, said: “There is no excuse for fly-tipping.

“Our residents have told us that tackling this anti-social crime is a priority and we would urge members of the public to report any instances of fly-tipping directly to us.”
