No more news on condition of Rotherham school's "wonderful" headteacher after health shock

School has now reopened after sudden closure last week

A Rotherham school has declined to give an update on the health of its headteacher who collapsed on the premises last week.

Mrs Rachael Booth, headteacher of the Willows School in Thurcroft, suffered a heart attack while she was at the school on October 14.

Staff and pupils at the special education place of learning on Locksley Drive witnessed emergency services rushing to the scene.

The school was closed for the rest of the week but reopened on Monday.

The Advertiser has contacted the school on a number of occasions but the school said there was no statement to give on Mrs Booth.

In a statement on the Willows’ website last week, Warren Carratt, chief executive officer of Nexus Multi Academy Trust, described Mrs Booth’s condition as “critical” and said the 48 hours that followed were likely to be “crucial.”

Many people have passed on good wishes to the popular headteacher in the meantime.
