Millers banner remembering Owen is heading off to Fleetwood
“The flag went to the World Cup so we are taking it for the first time to Fleetwood”
A special flag in honour of much-missed Millers fan Owen Jenkinson will be making its way to the Rotherham United match against Fleetwood Town tomorrow.
It will be displayed with pride at the Football League Two match to remember Owen who passed away in November last year aged 17 after a long battle with cancer.
Rotherham United Official Supporters Club will be having a bucket collection on all away coaches during October to raise funds for PACT (Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia).
The supporters club have created a memorial garden at New York Stadium in memory of Owen.
Roy Squires, of the supporters club, told the Advertiser: “The flag went to the World Cup so we are taking it for the first time to Fleetwood.
“We are having a collection on the bus.”
