Man “groped himself” at Swinton station

POLICE are searching for a man who groped himself in front of a young girl who was waiting for a train.

The girl was at Swinton station at around 6am last Saturday when the man approached her and started asking sexual questions, then groped himself through his clothes.

Both boarded a train towards Rotherham, where the man alighted.

He is described as Asian, in his 30s, slim and with several metal teeth.

The man was wearing a black coat, black trousers, black beanie and was carrying a black rucksack.

Investigating officer PC Richard Ward said: “The actions of the man at Swinton station left the young girl feeling extremely uncomfortable and distressed.

“She feared for her safety. It is vital we find the man responsible.”
