Joss loses fight for life

PROMISING young Rotherham athlete Joss Rowley has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 16.

Joss, who was a keen athlete and rugby player, had seemed to be respondng to treatment, but died at home in Lymington Lane, Treeton surrounded by his family.

The Wickersley Comprehensive pupil was supported by many friends and well-wishers, many of them famous.

They included England rugby star Lewis Moody

His funeral will be held at 1.30m on May 9 at St Mary’s Church, Herringthorpe, followed by a service at Rotherham Crematorium at 3pm and the family would like to invite everyone to celebrate Joss’ life at New York Stadium from 4pm.

The family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers to be made to Ward M3, the children’s cancer ward, at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

An inspiration who kept fighting to the end.
