Gareth Butterfield is a senior journalist and content editor with a diverse range of specialisms built up over nearly 19 years, having worked on everything from hard news and opinion, to cars and consumer technology.
He began his career in local newspapers in the Midlands, working on the Burton Mail, Derby Telegraph and Ashbourne News Telegraph, but his specialisms quickly developed and within a few years at the coalface he branched out into consumer technology content and automotive journalism, alongside his news and opinion writing.
More recently, Gareth worked as a consumer technology writer and motoring editor for a wide network of regional and national titles, including The Mirror, Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo and Birmingham Mail.
He is currently self-employed, providing content on a freelance basis for a selection of independent online titles.
Product reviews, consumer guides, automotive content and rural affairs remain his passions. He's also a closet weather geek, loves touring the UK in a motorhome and a narrowboat, and he never shuts up about his two dogs.
