REVIEW: Nik Kershaw, The Foundry, Sheffield
EIGHTIES pop star Nik Kershaw and support artist Seb Wesson played The Foundry in Sheffield during the current heatwave – in a beautifully air conditioned modern venue.
Nik Kershaw came to prominence in the 80s as a solo artist.

During this decade he released multiple songs that hit the top 40 UK single charts that included I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Human Racing, The Riddle, Wide Boy, Don Quixote, and Wouldn’t It Be Good.
Sheffield was honoured to have Kershaw kickstart his Six in 26 micro anniversary tour here and ahead of show I was fortunate to speak to Mr Kershaw, grab a quote and a selfie.
Speaking to the Advertiser he said: “I’m really excited to be playing Sheffield today.
“I played here in the early 2000s.
“The air-conned venue is great for the punters today!”
When asked about his support he added: “We know Seb Wesson really well – he toured with us in 2023.
“He has some great songs.”
Solo singer-song writer and guitarist Seb Wesson is set to support throughout Kershaw's latest Six in 26 tour.
Wesson performed to a packed room – six beautiful folky indie-rock songs – and his audience fully enjoyed his performance.
At 8.45pm the man of the hour took to the stage - Mr Kershaw.
The audience and I were spoilt with an impressive set list of 20 songs, including all the favourite notable hits.
The audience cheered, clapped and screamed in excitement.
The vibe was absolutely amazing as he created true high-octane energy.
Kershaw concluded his hour and a half evening set with an amazing rendition of his number one single ‘The One and Only’ – that he penned for Chesney Hawkes in 1991.
A thoroughly enjoyable high energy evening.
