Chance to join dragonboat race fun for Bluebell Wood

FOURTEEN teams are already on the list to compete in Bluebell Wood’s annual dragonboat race at Manvers Lake.

The children’s charity is holding the event on Saturday, July 8, with prizes for most sponsorship and best dressed as well as the actual winners.

Jane Petit, from the 2022 champs CrossFit Rotherham, said “We were proud to win last year and have recruited a second team this year.

“The teams train regularly at CrossFit Rotherham and find that this really helps build strength and stamina for the races. We can’t wait to get back on the water again.”

Spectators will be able to enjoy a range of family-friendly activities as well as watching the race.

Sophie Clark, communications and engagement advisor at event sponsors Boohoo, said: “Working alongside a charity who do amazing work all year round is an honour.”
