Two early morning arson attacks in Goldthorpe

A SOFA and rubbish were destroyed in one of two early morning arson attacks in Goldthorpe today (Friday).

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to the first fire, where a sofa and rubbish had been set alight on Cooperative Street, at 2.45am and were at the scene until 3am, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

The crew were called to Market Square at 3.15am where a tree had been deliberately set alight and were at the scene until 3.55am, added the spokesperson.
