Vicky joined the Advertiser in 2013, having previously worked as an area visual merchandiser manager and trainer for Warehouse, covering the north of the UK and Ireland.

She also worked as a visual merchandiser and manager at Roseby’s, House of Fraser and Alders, and studied at Granville College, Sheffield.

Vicky had many hobbies, including fashion, interior design, flower arranging, reading and travel.

She was particularly talented in arts and crafts and had a natural flair for design and presentation.

Along with her husband Darren (pictured, below), she was involved in the buying and renovating of properties on the east coast, with her interest in interior design evident.

Mr Ollivent, director of Regional Media Ltd, which publishes the Advertiser, said: “Although we were aware of Vicky’s illness and the tough battle ahead of her, we were all confident she would pull through and were all devastated at the news of her passing.

“She was a warm, friendly, happy person with an infectious personality, who was popular with everyone at the office and her regular customers and contacts.

“She will be very sadly missed.

“Our sympathies go out to Darren and Vicky’s family.”
