TWO town centre businesses are in line for regional awards.

La Bella Lingerie, based in High Street and Jaded Heart, round the corner in Moorgate Street, have both been shortlisted for the Yorkshire Choice Awards, which recognise people and independent businesses that are an inspiration in their field.

La Bella has been nominated in the Customer Service Award category, and both La Bella and Jaded Heart have been nominated in the Independent Business of the Year category.

Voting is now under way for the awards and both businesses are appealing for support before the March 16 deadline at https://www.yorkshirechoiceawards.co.uk/votehere.

La Bella was founded in 2014 by ex-teacher Karen Carr, who started her “dream business” with help from Rotherham Borough Council’s “Pop-Up Shop” scheme.

Meanwhile, aromatherapy shop Jaded Heart is the pride and joy of enterprising Jordan Mangnall, who was nominated for the Rotherham Young Entrepreneur of the Year award last November, just nine months after setting up shop last February.

The former Oakwood School student quit a social media and marketing apprenticeship to go into business.
