Top cop's open water and arson warning
Det Chief Insp Martin Tate has also spoken out about the dangers of starting fires as the number of arson attacks on grassland across the borough has also increased.
Mr Tate warned people not to swim in rivers or open water where there was a strong risk of drowning by getting caught in weeds or currents.

Hide AdHe said: “I am urging parents and children not to swim in open water. Open water is not safe because people can become trapped by weeds or caught in currents.
“Temperatures in areas of water are cold and can lead to people drowning.
“Also, starting fires can have devastating effects and can damage property.
“Having to deal with them takes fire officers and police away from dealing with other incidents.
“Arson is a criminal offence and carries serious penalties.”
