THREE fire crews spent more than an hour at scene of an early-hours arson attack in Rotherham.

THREE fire crews spent more than an hour at the scene of an early-hours arson attack in Rotherham.

Crews from Rotherham, Maltby and Dearne stations attended the deliberate premise fire on St John’s Road, East Dene, at 3.40am on Saturday.

A fire service spokesperson said: “All occupants were already out when crews arrived.

“Firefighters left the scene at 5.05am.”

Another deliberate fire was reported on the same night in James Street, Masbrough.

Firefighters from Rotherham station attended the incident fter being alerted at 2.30am and were there until 3.15am.

Firefighters from Maltby and Edlington stations attended a premise fire at 11am on Sunday on Wheatfield Drive, Tickhill.

The spokesperson said: “The accidental fire had started in an outside bin and had spread to the premise.

“Crews left the scene at 12.30pm.”
