Thornberry Animal Sanctuary forced to close after deadly virus outbreak
The North Anston charity said the site was temporarily closed to members of the public and volunteers after the outbreak, which causes dogs to be lethargic and can also lead to sickness and diarrhoea.
Jo Brunt, chairperson of trustees, said: “We have taken the responsible decision to close the site to the public and volunteers as we felt it was absolutely necessary for the welfare of the animals in our care and we will re-open as soon as we are in a position to do so.
