Teen robbed of phone in Rotherham subway and assaulted

A TEENAGER was threatened with a flick-knife and robbed of his phone in a subway before being assaulted.

The 19-year-old man was walking under the College Road roundabout in Rotherham when he was approached by four men.

They demanded he hand over his iPhone and AirPod earphones and headed back towards the town centre at 11.45pm on August 29.

The victim followed the men and was assaulted by one of them outside Superdrug, South Yorkshire Police said.

A spokesperson added: “The men then left the scene in the direction of the Plough pub, and then on towards Bailey House.

“Police now want to speak to the men in the CCTV images as they may hold information which may help enquiries.

“Do you recognise them? If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident 12 of August 30.”
