Stadium tours part of Rotherham open day for students and young people

TOURS of the New York Stadium are on offer during an open day next week aimed at young people thinking about the world of work.

Rotherham Council and Rotherham United are teaming up for the free event from 10am to 3pm next Wednesday at the Millers’ HQ, which is open to Year 11 students and those aged 16 to 18 who are not in training or employment.

There will be activities run by Rotherham United and SJD Sports and the chance to go pitchside and see the dugouts, changing rooms and media room.

Stallholders at the event will showcase what Rotherham services can accessed in terms of education, employment and training, as well as the Ambition Project, which supports young people into training and work.

Event organiser Joanne Smith called the open day “a fantastic opportunity for young people in our area”.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided and free transport may also be available.
