Speedy surgery performs 1,200 flu jabs in three hours - have you had yours?

Broom Lane Medical Centre pulled out all the stops to issue the jabs to at-risk patients, including over-65s and those with chronic conditions.
Medics also aim to immunise all of their front-line colleagues, plus care and nursing home staff this year.

Practice partner Dr Richard Cullen said: “For the last ten years, we have held a Saturday flu clinic to immunise as many people as possible.
“Normally we vaccinate about 900 people, \_this year we managed 1,200, so it was very successful.”
Practice staff also managed to raise £700 for motor neurone disease research, led by retired partner Dr Naresh Patel.

“Proper flu is a two-week, serious illness which can put you in bed, in hospital or even kill.
“Anyone considered at-risk should have received a letter from their practice, inviting them to be vaccinated.
“If you think you are at-risk but haven’t received a letter, contact your practice and find out if you are eligible.”
