Smoke clouds spotted across the skies of Mexborough

CLOUDS of smoke could be seen from a property behind a Chinese restaurant as witnesses reported it was believed to be on fire this afternoon.

The fire appears to have taken place outside a property near Wing Hing on Wath Road in Mexborough at around 12.45pm.

Social media users said it appeared to be a shed fire which was reportedly caused by asbestos, and one eyewitness said they could see the fire from Dolecliffe Road and the back of Cambridge Street. 

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue have been approached for more information.
