Sign up to police alerts for news and contact with neighbourhood policing teams

SOUTH Yorkshire Police is urging people to sign up to their alert system as a way to find out the latest incidents happening in your area and keep in touch with your local neighbourhood policing team.

This time last year, around 25,000 people were registered across South Yorkshire for SYP Alerts - a free community messaging service that lets you have direct communication with your neighbourhood policing officers and staff.

You can also find out about pop-in police stations, community events and crimes reported in your area.

A spokeswoman for SYP said the force was grateful to everyone within their communities who signed up for SYP Alerts in 2020, describing the 10,000 take-up as a "tremendous show of support".

To register, visit www.sypalerts.co.uk and complete a short registration form, after which you will be sent a verification email.
