Seven due in court today over murder of Rotherham dad Adam Clapham

THE trial of seven people charged over the murder of a Rotherham dad — including a 16-year-old boy — is expected to begin today.

The victim, Adam Clapham (31, pictured), was found unresponsive by police at property in Spring Street, near Tesco, on the morning of September 19 last year.

Five men, one woman and a youth are due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown today.

The accused are as follows:

  • Muhammad Ashraf (18), of Fraser Road, Rotherham
  • Arbab Yusuf (23), of Norwood Avenue, Romford
  • Robert Crookes (31), of no fixed abode
  • Lynette Myers (39), of Hounsfield Crescent
  • Kieron Millar (30), of Mount Pleasant Road, Masbrough
  • Martin Shaw (43), of Norfolk Street
  • A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Some charges also relate to offences against another man.

Millar, Myers, Crookes, Ashraf, Yusuf and the youth are all charged with murder, wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment and sex offences.

Shaw is accused of assisting an offender.

The trial is listed for up to six weeks.
