Rotherham's Covid-19 infection rate continues to fall - and borough no longer in top 10 list
The latest weekly figures show the infection rate per 100,000 people swab-tested between July 6 and July 12 was down to 14.7 cases - a significant drop of 6.8 compared to the previous week's number of 21.5.
Rotherham previously had the sixth-highest rate but the latest data ranked it at 13th.
Rotherham Council pushed for more testing locally as a result of its top-ten ranking but the full effects of these extra tests - at new mobile testing sites at the old bus depot on Midland Road and the Herringthorpe Stadium car park - will not yet be seen in the statistics as they did not start until Saturday, July 11.
Further results on Covid-19 latest swab testing drive and where Rotherham stands is due to be released at the end of this week.
