Police day of action in Rotherham yields 15 arrests


The multi-agency operation saw officers in Rotherham work alongside other police personnel from across South Yorkshire teaming up with Rotherham Borough Council.
A variety of offences were targeted during the operation on Friday, including theft, burglary, cannabis production and firearm possession.

Hide AdOthers were detained by officers for failing to appear at court, breaching court orders and for recall to prison.
Chief Insp Paul Ferguson, who led the morning’s briefing, said there had seen some “really positive results”.
“This was a great day, where residents, councillors and the area’s agencies have worked together and made good things happen,” Chief Insp Ferguson added.
"I hope the significant action taking place across our town reassures the public that we are absolutely committed to tackling crime in Rotherham."
