Hide AdRotherham Council’s director of public health, Teresa Roche, said: “Rotherham’s infection rates are still higher than I would like and are still not coming down quick enough - so I urge anyone with symptoms, no matter how mild, to get a test.
“I want to thank everyone who has been tested so far - we have seen one of the highest uptakes for tests, so it shows that people in Rotherham are really behind us in keeping the virus under control.”
Ms Roche said Rotherham’s above-average infection rate may indicate a later local peak to the pandemic, as well as local demographics.
