Mr Motivator joins celebs to fight modern slavery
The Fundraising Gala Dinner will take place at Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery and is in aid of modern slavery support charity Causeway.
Mr Motivator joins a host of celebrities who will be appearing at the event.
They include Bridgerton star Ruby Barker, who plays Marina Thompson in the hit Netflix series, actor Jacob Dudman, best known as Thomas Price in The Stranger, and The X Factor and Happy Mondays singer Rowetta.
Mr Motivator will act as raffle host, Ruby will deliver the welcome address, Jacob is the after-dinner speaker and Rowetta is performing live.
A panel of specialists from across the modern slavery sector will also be discussing advances in survivor support.
Causeway supports people who have escaped modern slavery and human trafficking, and runs several safe houses and outreach programmes across South Yorkshire that help survivors of forced labour, forced sex work, forced criminality, and forced domestic servitude back into independence.
The charity also works with the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit to run safer communities programmes aimed at reducing re-offending rates.
Causeway works with people who have been arrested to address the issues behind the offending and help them move forward with their lives.
The event aims to both fundraise and raise awareness of modern slavery and crime reduction.
Mr Motivator said: “Causeway aims to level the playing field for those that society seems to have turned its back on.
“I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have a happy, healthy, and successful life.
“So to draw attention and to create awareness and better understanding of this worthy cause, I am so happy to be attending this year’s fundraising gala evening.
“Please show your support and join me at this amazing event – say Yeah!”
Ruby said: “I’m honoured to be attending the gala event and delivering the welcome address.
“It will be a fantastic and fun-filled evening. However, it will also be an important opportunity for people to come and support Causeway as they work towards a world without exploitation.”
The gala takes place at Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery on Thursday, September 21, and is open to the public.
