Motorist jailed after failing to call ambulance for injured passenger
Yasser Nabi, of Wellgate, had three passengers in his car when he crashed into a wall in Rotherham last April.
The 22-year-old admitted causing serious injury by careless driving on Wednesday — the day he was due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

Hide AdNabi had driven to Ladybower Reservoir with three friends before returning to Rotherham to buy some cigarettes, said Mr Kevin Jones, prosecuting.
As he was travelling through Rotherham, he was driving slightly faster than he should have been and oversteered as he went around a corner.
Nabi crashed into a wall and one of the passengers was severely injured, Mr Jones said.
The injured passenger, who was unconscious, was put to bed and Nabi refused to call an ambulance because if she was taken to hospital the police might become involved, Mr Jones told the court.

Hide AdHe suggested another friend should take her to hospital and she should say she had fallen down the stairs, but one of the passengers disagreed and called an ambulance.
The injured woman found to have damage to her liver and kidneys but had since recovered, the court heard.
Nabi later called the police and claimed the keys to his car were stolen and the car had gone missing but his passengers told the police what happened.
Nabi, who admitted perverting the course of justice at an earlier hearing, was sentenced to 12 months in prison, at least six months of which will be served on licence, and banned from driving for 18 months.
Judge David Dixon QC told him: “The concern of the police being involved was such that an ambulance was not called (following the collision).
“That is disgraceful.”
