Man arrested after police drugs raids in Rotherham

POLICE seized more than 600 cannabis plants as they raided several properties in the same street.

Several police and Home Office vehicles were stationed in Whybourne Grove from 9am on Monday.

A police spokesperson said drugs had been found on the premises.

“As part of Rotherham's continued efforts to tackle and disrupt those who grow and supply cannabis across the town, a number of drugs warrants were executed along Whybourne Grove,” they said.

“As a result, approximately 600 suspected cannabis plants were seized.

“A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.”
