Man (42) in court over 11 Rotherham child sex offences

A MAN has been charged with 11 child sex offences – including four rapes – by the investigators looking into child grooming and sex abuse in Rotherham.

Adam Ali faces four counts of rape, three of indecent assault and four of unlawful sexual activity with a child against the same victim, who was aged between 12 and 14 at the time.

National Crime Agency officers working on Operation Stovewood prosecuted Ali as part of their wide-ranging probe into allegations of historic abuse in the borough.

Ali (42) appeared before Sheffield Magistrates' Court today and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on June 16.

 

Ali, formerly of Rotherham, was arrested by NCA officers yesterday at his home address in Greenwich, south London.
