Lorry driver in hospital after M1 crash
AN HGV driver was taken to hospital after a crash on the M1 this morning.
Firefighters rescued the man from the vehicle, which was reported to have swerved across lanes between junctions 33 and 34 northbound just after 5am.
It was reported that the driver might have had a medical episode at the wheel, South Yorkshire Police said.
Fire crews from Parkway, Aston Park, Rotherham and Dearne stations were at the scene until just after 6am.
Two lanes were closed until the vehicle was recovered.
