Hay bales set alight in Dinnington arson attack

HAY bales were set alight in an arson attack in Dinnington last night (Sunday).

Firefighters from Aston station were called to the deliberate fire on Oldcotes Road at 9pm and tackled the blaze for 55 minutes, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

A fire at a derelict building in Goldthorpe on Sunday afternoon was started deliberately.

Firefighters from Adwick and Dearne were called to the arson attack on Barnsley Road at 4.50pm and were at the scene for about an hour, the spokeswoman said.

Another crew was called to an accidental fire at a steelworks in Aldwarke on Sunday afternoon.

The accidental fire on Aldwarke Lane was reported at 4.25pm and firefighters were at the scene until around 5.15pm, the spokeswoman said.
