FLOODING: Touching moment firefighters ensured elderly Rotherham woman had food
Photographer Rich Sayles captured the moment today (Friday) near the town centre and said the firefighters went above and beyond in their duty.
The Rotherham firefighters, Grant Baugh and Ryan Webster, made a special visit to the shops for the unidentified woman and fashioned a large pole with a hook to hoist her shopping bag up to her first-floor window.

"I had a great chat and a laugh with them and they made sure the lady was safe and they'd be checking up on her.
"It's fabulous to see, under the extreme circumstances, that people are cheerful and helpful and the lads were happy to pose for a portrait before they went off to their next job.
"They're a credit to South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue."
