FIRE: Motorists advised to avoid Doncaster Road
UP TO thirty firefighters tackled a fire at a disused working men’s club which broke out early this morning (Friday).
The fire at Dalton Progressive Working Men’s Club on Doncaster Road started at around 2.10am. At the height of the fire there were six fire engines at the scene.

Hide AdIt is the second major fire to occur on Doncaster Road, Dalton in just two months. The first, at the former Millside Centre, took 40 firefighters eight hours to put out.
The cause of the latest blaze is not yet known. An investigation will take place after crews finish damping down the scene, a task which could take "all day", a South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said.
The A630 Doncaster Road was closed but had reopened by 10am today.
