Could you provide a loving home for Newton?

Blue lurcher Newton was taken on by Moat Lane-based charity Rain Rescue after ending up in the stray kennels and he is now in need of a new owner.

Animal centre deputy manager Lauren Sanderson said: “When Newton first arrived he was really struggling to cope in the kennel environment and it was so sad to see.

“Thankfully, one of fantastic fosterers was able to take him in until a forever home could be found, but he’s now been waiting for some time.

“I think it’s accurate to say he’s a diamond in the rough. 

“He’s larger than life and is going to need some ongoing training with any new home he goes to but he is really intelligent and quick to learn.

“Newton has come on amazingly well while with his fosterer and loves dog sport activities like agility.

“He will make a fantastic companion for the right person willing to put in the time with him. He’s very affectionate and adores being with people.”
