Cops launch probe after car fire in Thrybergh

POLICE believe a car which was found on fire in a Thrybergh field could have been involved in a collision.

The Peugeot was found in a field near Carr Lane at 5.40pm on Sunday.

Officers found no-one in the car or in the immediate surrounding area, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

Police believe the car might have been involved in a collision and an investigation is underway.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said  a crew from Rotherham station spent around half-an-hour tackling the fire.

Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 743 of August 19.
