Colleges celebrate Government silver award
TWO Rotherham colleges celebrated achieving a silver rating in a Government scheme helping students pick where to study degrees.
Rotherham College and Dearne Valley College — plus North Notts College in Worksop — were given the rank under the new Teaching Excellence Framework.
Jana Checkley, higher education director for parent company RNN Group, said: “Our colleges’ strengths are great lecturers, a lot of tutor support and contact time, and good equipment and facilities.”
The colleges offer more than 40 degree-level courses and will start work this month (July) on a £12 million university campus on Doncaster Gate.
